Hey Roomie- if you start wearing  Seminole red/maroon, we may have to rethink our rooming situation. (Go 'Canes!)
:joke:
I miss the Sunshine State too. Went to college there. :sun:

PS - I am going to try to get my dad to make a rattler for me. He has a bunch of PVC pipes lying around the basement. I just have to figure out Herman's instructions for the "I" bolt.

Hmm...Good point, I probably should look for Red and Black. Mine is Blue and Silver, if I could change the Blue into Red then I would have it made.

Seriously, I am a fan of several, Gators are in there since my brother is a grad from there and I am a born Floridian. Georgia has become my home state away from home. (and my son went to UGA) so I have a tiny loyalty to them. But truth be known you can take the girl out of Florida but can't take Florida out of the
girl.

I really miss the Sunshine State, especially the close proximity to OW.

An old saying from the true old Conchs in Key West is "once you have sand in your shoes you will return". I could't put it better, cause I sure have had plenty of sand in mine and I will return, again and again.

Maybe this will help. First an "I" bolt is a special kind of screw that looks something like this ----O. Think of a bolt that has had the head cut off and the unthreaded part bent into a loop. Any good hardware store or boat dealer will have them, just make sure they are stainless steel, they are about 2 or 3 times more expensive but they will not rust <$2. A 1/8" or 3/16" diameter (bolt part thickness) will be about right but the bolt diameter is not critical. Take one of the PVC endcaps and bore a hole in it. The diameter of the hole should be just a little smaller than the diameter of the I bolt. It will be a tight fit but the "I" bolt will cut it's own threads as you screw it in. Screw the "I" bolt in to the end cap, put a daub of RTV around the bolt on the inside of the end cap and install a nut onto the "I" bolt to secure it in. Putting more RTV around the nut would be a good idea. Let this assembly dry over night and than put the rattler together as detailed on the other instructions. Is it clear now, if not maybe I can figure out a way to get a drawing on here.

What’s in an homonym? You will probably better understand if we write it as "eye-bolt". Since there is an "eye" on one end of it. You were probably thinking "I" like in I-beam. Look at his diagram and you will see what he means. O----- Where the ---- is actually threaded, and the O part can accept a clip.

I sure hope this post was an "eye-opener", because frankly... I have had it for the day. BTW, Herman I think you came up with an eye-deal solution.

Eye see what you mean Doc, eye never claimed to be a writer. Eye'm much better with a drill than a keyboard. Ain't homonym made of corn? :)

Grits = Girls Raised In The South!
You have to wonder why them Yankys dont like Grits.

As far as licenses go for the Crawdads. Dixie Divers has them according to the web sight.

Oh locking them in a closet is not going to work. I was told by a guy here that those antennie work as lock picks.

Don't forget your "Tourist Stamp". If get caught with a tourist and DON'T have that pesky stamp, its bad; really bad. Remember Tourist Season opens soon... go for the soft white underbelly. It's their weakest spot! The Link should you be so inclined... :tease:

Hi Stone:
Thanks for the link. So it looks like it's either 6.50 for a three day license or 16.50 for 7 days. And I can catch and eat as many lobster as I want in those days? What a deal!
Walter, will there be any around the Deerfield beach area or do we need to move camp to the Keys?
Also Stone, I noticed you're in the Florida area, and have been following this thread. Any interest in joining us?
