The three I mentioned and a Zebco... OK, OK, the Zebco doesn't count! I do use the plastic one for my diver's down float/flag... Walter will we be needing that as well? I am sure we will for the shore dives. BTW, to see the plastic reel you have to click on Accessories and then on Miscellaneous Accessories to find it. They won't allow a direct link to it. Go figure!

Walter...

Another skill to cover for us to practice in the resorts pool, shore dives, or on the wreck dives themselve....

Non-silting kicks (aka frog kick and others).

This is something that got left out of my SDI wreck class and boy did I rotertill the compartment during the dive. Made me glad I was using the reel!

Check out the links Pete provided, you'll find reels as low as $35. I've not seen a reel with the wrong size line. 50 ft of line is more than we'll use in this course. A buddy team can share a reel for this class. In class we'll discuss when you'd want your own reel and even when you'd want a backup reel.

Antisilting techniques will be covered. A flutter kick (the preferred kick of most divers) is not the preferred kick of anyone swimming near the bottom or in close quarters where silt is a problem. A frog kick is an excellent choice as is skulling.

Don't get too thrilled, I'm not all that modest.

Please welcome Herman and his wife Kathy to the trip. Great to have you two!

Welcome to the Wrecking Crew Herman and Kathy! We are all going to have a great time.

Pete watch it on the Gator stomp stuff, that can get the Bulldogs going. Who let the dogs out?

On a more serious note I found a safety reel with diversdirect for $34.99, it is 100ft. and looks like would meet requirements.

But the gators put 'em back 24-10 :tease:

Of course, one of those cheers I remember from my college days...

Two four six eight,
Wait till Herschel graduates!

I guess I will have to find an Orange and Blue wet suit.

Hmm...Good point, I probably should look for Red and Black. Mine is Blue and Silver, if I could change the Blue into Red then I would have it made.

Seriously, I am a fan of several, Gators are in there since my brother is a grad from there and I am a born Floridian. Georgia has become my home state away from home. (and my son went to UGA) so I have a tiny loyalty to them. But truth be known you can take the girl out of Florida but can't take Florida out of the
girl.

I really miss the Sunshine State, especially the close proximity to OW.

An old saying from the true old Conchs in Key West is "once you have sand in your shoes you will return". I could't put it better, cause I sure have had plenty of sand in mine and I will return, again and again.

Hi everyone!
Just a little reminder to " Get your checks in the mail." LOL
Seriously, I leave for Cozumel in 16 days. I'll be gone for 9 days. I want to write up all the files and put the amounts you sent in on them before I leave. This makes less work for my partner while I'm gone.
Has anyone sent theirs yet?

noise maker

Cindy,

Before putting the noise maker together, get a stainless steel (be sure it's SS not zinc plated) "I" bolt. Put a hole in one of the end caps and insert the the "I" bolt, squirt some RTV (silicon rubber in a tube)around the I bolt and install a nut. Be sure to keep the hole as close to the "I" bolt diameter as possible, threading the hole is ideal. Allow this to set up overnight before putting it all together. You now have a place to attach a clip which will allow you to clip it to your BC instead of searching for a pocket.
