Very intriguing and interesting story. I hope you reach your goals. Just take them in steps and I'm sure you will find your answers.

SeaHound:
There are lots of links that suggest that the runaway nun was Fatima Akmal Khan (my great grandma) but the only way it can be proven beyond any reasonable doubt is if I the wreck down below is the same wreck that is in the painting. Thats why I wanna dive this wreck! Hope this tells you why someone with 7 dives would wanna go down 200 feet.

are you trying to compare the ship on the painting with
the ship on the bottom of the sea to see if they are one
and the same? if this is the case, you do realize that
the wreck won't look like much by now, just a vague shape
covered in stuff?

or are you trying to prove that the Perisa lies in a certain location? in this case, what would that prove?

at any rate, you will need to identify the wreck either by
stern lettering (if they are still there), or, more likely, by finding
some object with the name of the ship (such as a bell, safe,
or some such).

this will entail not only going down to the ship at 200 feet but actually doing penetration dives, which will require training and patience to get to.

you are talking about a dive beyond the skills of 95% of the diving public.

that is not to say that you will not be able to do it; just realize that you have a huge learning curve ahead of you before
you can do it safely.

nothing on that wreck is worth dying for, not even your family history.

Unethical...... Being a businessman, I have to say business is business. I've gotten screwed more times then you can imagine, from who I thought were really nice people when I first met them. So, if you don't have a contract with this guy, it's just business.

On the other hand, if he has done nothing to you and you beleive him to be a nice guy then take it slow. You may not have to deal with contracts, but if you are putting up a $100.00 or so make sure you get a receipt and you understand the conditions before you turn over money. And if that experiance goes well, then trust can go a long way. Remember there are two sides to every story and he may owe money, but for good reason.

Let me add that I owe people money, hell we all do, but I pay and I pay good when the work is done right. If its not done right, then I hold back money until it is.

ok lets look at this another way, go and read 'The Last Dive' maybe the conditons are more extreme than you will face but read it with an open mind and listen what people are telling you about experience
