World Cup Draw is today guys, I can't wait to see how the groups will go!

Daylonious I hear that Romario is still playing and that's he the leading scorer in the Brasilian league?
What are Bebeto and the rest of those guys up to?

So what do you guys think of the matchups?
I'm keeping my eye on Group C with the Netherlands and Argentina, this should produce a memorable match.
Brazil in my opinion have it set to advance from their group, the only question is who #2 will be Australia or Croatia or even Japan!?
Only time will tell.................... :14:

The 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany™ moved a tantalising step closer to reality after the intrigue and excitement of the Final Draw at the Messe in Leipzig tonight.

The draw produced some mouthwatering match-ups, not least in Group C where African newcomers Côte d'Ivoire will play two-times winners Argentina, Netherlands, and Serbia and Montenegro in the toughest-looking section. Italy, Ghana, United States and the Czech Republic also present a formidable lineup in Group E.

Holders Brazil are in Group F with Croatia, Australia and Japan, meaning former Brazilian hero Zico will tackle the Seleção. Hosts Germany will take on Poland, Ecuador and Costa Rica in Group A. The Germans' meeting with Costa Rica will open the tournament on 9 June next year.

Elsewhere, the 1998 winners France will open their campaign against neighbours Switzerland, England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson will face his home country Sweden for the second FIFA World Cup running, and Lusitanian countries Portugal and Angola will meet.

dbulmer:
Well done to Trinidad and Tobago.

I hope England don't play them :)

Guess what, mate? LOL

Our draw was a pretty brutal one, but it's not totally impossible. Italy look beatable, and the Czechs are getting a little long in the tooth. These are two of the teams we had to play in 1990 -- we lost 5-1 to the Czechs (then Czechoslovakia) and 1-0 to Italy. That's not going to happen this time. If we can get at least draws with them, we can advance.

Lol former colonial masters versus one of their former colonies :14:.
As Caribbean islands go though Trinidad isn't particularly 'English' in culture or mannerisms..., you should travel to Barbados.... God save the queen and all that lol:D.

Hey Scubatexan,
I agree that the your group isn't totally impossible but it's going to be really difficult!
But hey it's the World Cup they're no easy teams around.

Think if you pick up 3 points against Ghana and maybe a draw against the Czech republic, things could go your way.
As for Italy under Marcello Lippi (former Juventus coach) they play attacking football and I think they're out to avenge their early and somewhat controversial exit from WC 2002.

I absolutely can't wait for the tournament to begin, will you be one of the lucky ones travelling to Germany to see it?
