I would like to see another CONCACAF team in there, god knows we got royally F'd by the refs in the qualifiers....

Missed it, my fox sports world is on the fritz.
Local tv showed it delayed, seems that every person in Port of Spain was at the stadium .
Decent game, T&T looks to have what it takes to advance to the finals..

Trini does the T&T squad travel well?

Look at the trends, all games come in 2 in 4 day formats. Trinidad has constantly looked much better on the second game. The outcome was very dissappointing because we did not play very well at all. Minus one great shot Trinidad lacked direction, so while they controlled the game they couldn't do anything with it. Hopefully we can come out on wednesday and play hard enough to qualify. Trinidad as a country cannot handle the heart break of another strike squad.

Best of luck on Wednesday in the second leg, T&T! We could definitely use a fourth CONCACAF team in the World Cup. Between Sam's Army, Los Tricolores, the Ticos and T&T, we should have a good showing in Germany. I wish I was going... :frown:

I'd like to make a prediction I predict that at least 2 CONCACAF teams will advance from the first round and 1 will make it to the quarter-finals..
I'm thinking Mexico at this stage, but it could be the US just as easily.

If Landon Donovan plays as well in the World Cup as I saw him play yesterday -- running into space and creating shot opportunities -- I really like the USA's chances in Germany. Congrats to the LA Galaxy for winning the MLS Cup yesterday!

Shoot-outs and forced overtime, no draws allowed?

US definetly has pretty good chances in Germany, they've made huge strides in the past 6-8 yrs, much improved since France '98.

No, thank god. The MLS conforms to FIFA regulations now -- 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss, and 30-minutes extra time, followed by penalties to settle the match in postseason play. Yesterday's match (a 1-0 Galaxy win) was settled on a goal in extra time by LA's Guillermo (Pando) Ramirez. Hopefully, in the not too distant future, they will adapt the away-goals rule to settle home-and-home ties.

Trinidad & Tobago are through to the world Cup Finals!!
After an exhilirating match in which the trini's dominated play, held possession and created the vast majority of attacking chances.

They held on towards the end as the Bahraini's grew frustrated and displayed their lack of class by throwing missiles (water bottles) onto the field and charging the referee at one point resulting in a red card to them....

4th Concacaf team qualified for the World cup, 2nd english speaking Caribbean team to have ever qualified and smallest nation ever.
