Once in gauge mode, the computer will require a 24 hour surface interval to operate as a fully functioning dive computer. If you have questions about your safety while diving mulitple times in multiple days, you may want to contact your instructor. Our suggestion, when in doubt with any piece of equipment or the operation of the equipment, stay on shore as safety is number one.

sherwood it not a problem with the computer it's the miss use of the computer and not following Nitrogen load protocols.

Why do you care if it's in gauge mode you don't care about the information it's supplying anyway. Your whole profile will be incorrect if you reset it. I hope you have enough credit on you card because chamber rides are expensive.
What a bunch of misinformation and terrorism. It is clear from your response that you do not understand diving and the technical device info to support safe diving. The post is about setting gauge mode inadvertantly which is a situation that does happen and it will lock out user from using as a dive computer which is the reason people buy a dive computer for. This is actually an unsafe practice. It is best to always use a computer when diving as you may know it has algorithms to calculate your nitrogen intake. Gauge mode in most computers will work only as a bottom timer. Everybody should read the manual of course but putting in gauge mode is a mistake people do and unfortunately most computers will lock you into that for 24 hours.

The issue probably isn’t the user “setting gauge mode inadvertently” but that the computer locked him out because he ignored its warnings at some point.

really old thread, but....

I'm giving him the benefit of doubt here... A dive computer, if actually used in gauge mode for a dive, may not allow you to switch back to "dive computer" mode (I know I've read at least one manual that stated so) for 24 hours. So, if he did dive #1 in gauge mode, it may take 24 hours to be able to use it in computer mode....

I have that same computer and it is not the most intuative thing ever. I can definately see someone inadvertantly putting it in gauge mode when trying to set it up.

Have the same problem. Inadvertan tly got into gauge mode. Have had the unit out of the water and with the battery out for more than 36 hours. STILL stuck in gauge mode. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Update: Taking the battery out did NOT help! Had to wait 24 hours with the battery IN for the computer to "clear" and get out of gauge mode. Used a rental computer in the meantime....

That is why my wife and I ditched our wisdoms for shearwater terics with a transmitter. Couldn’t be happier. If anyone wants wisdoms let me know.

What are you asking for them? I like mine and wouldn't mind having a spare.
