Yesterday me and my buddy decided to go out for a quick dive and after hearing of an old wreck off Winter Island decided to hit it up again.

After suiting up we began the trek down to the beach. During this time I began cursing myself for deciding to dive the doubles as there was some nice ice along the path and walking in the snow wasn't much better.

We walked in and started swimming out to the nun, this was about when I started kicking myself in the ass for not adjusting my harness for the drysuit after diving that particular plate last in a 3 mil. Due to this I decided to just stay shallow and putz around looking at some stuff. There wasn't much life at all, and it was and warm at depth (a whopping 34 degrees).

After the dive it was a race to get all my bolt snaps undone as everything started to ice up, after a little cursing and blowing on the snaps I got them undone and jumped out of my drysuit to warm up.

This was followed by another great lunch at the Anchor Pub, gotta love good food, large portions and cheap prices :D

That's a first, breaking down the gear at record speed to avoid it freezing over....:rofl3:

Thanks, Lewis, I needed some afternoon humor.

Enjoyed the pics! Thanks for the dive report! Might motivate me to get back in the water soon.... :)

How was the vis?

I stayed relatively close to shore due to some "issues" but my friend reported 10-12 feet about 3/4 the way to the nun buoy. It was a little more closer to shore where I was.

nice shots - we dove at White's - vis was similar. It was a GLORIOUS day weather wise. Where is this wreck you speak of?

I saw your report as well, conditions seemed the same.

The wreck is supposedly off Waikiki Beach.

Nice report and pictures.

Its nice to have members keeping the board active in the winter time.

Thanks for sharing
