The best place in north Texas was Casa Jose in Arlington. Sadly, it burned down several years back.
Yeah, unfortunately, that has been the demise of several good restaurants in Arlington over the years.

Ya'll northerners (BIG grin) really need to make a road trip south. I'm very concerned that you all may have forgotten what good TexMex is. Let's all meet in San Antonio (off the River Walk), have some great TexMex...and plenty of good tequila. Then ya'll will remember what really good TexMex is. The next day you may not remember much about the evening before, but I guarantee you'll have fun while you're there!
I think there's a technical term for that. Starts with a "Y".
You know, I was 18 years old before I knew that DAMN and YANKEE were two different words.
Having a Dallas/Ft Worth/Austin happy hour would be awesome!
My schedule will slow down quite a bit starting in February.
Who's in??
Broken Bow, just north of highway 3 as you head towards BB lake -- this place is good but not great.
Wow! Thread got really busy while I was at work!
I heard a rumor a couple of years ago that Casa Jose restarted operations at a location on W. Arkansas (Arlington). That information is a couple of years dated now. I don't know if they are still there (or if they ever were for that matter).
Are you bad-mouthing El Señorial?
Sounds like someone has his priorities misplaced...
