Jeff: Just wondering. . . Should that read; isn't required for "anything," instread of "everything?"

Yep...you're right.

Except, if you are diving with the WKPP. Then it would be a requirement.

Skips that whole "where the heck is my octo?!" problem, and "oh I'm sorry I didn't know there was coral in my octo because it was banging into the reef!" problem, not to mention the "geez I don't even know if this thing works, but here you go anyway..." issue.

No joke ... on a dive trip to Quadra Island a few years back, I noticed that Cheng's octo was free-flowing slightly. Nothing we did during the dive could make it stop. After the dive I took the reg apart and found a tiny crab had crawled inside the reg and got a claw stuck thru the one-way valve on the exhaust port. Still have no idea how it got in there ...

What's with the never stops crack. Did you read the whole post? I think I was pretty fair in what I said. Your quote is out of context. I in no way was bashing anyone. Read it again. I think my post was actually on topic too.

His point is that you don't know what you're talking about. That wasn't a DIR diver. They don't dive solo. Your story thus carries no weight. Rest of the post was better.

Yes, I read the whole post. The fact that you do not understand is why I am laughing.

This is not to put you down, your post just demonstrates exactly what is wrong.

Here is a hint: DIR is pretty much the exact opposite of Solo diving.

Its not hard. All it takes is a snorkle keeper.
I read on the interwebs that you can only use a snorkel keeper if its pink. :eyebrow:

He had the rig and said he was DIR. I saw no point to Jeffg's laughing smiley face and a wise crack. I know DIR guys are not supposed to dive solo. The point was he claimed to represent DIR. Hence, the stigma placed on the discipline by many. (not me by the way if you look at the context) I was not aware you were on the boat at the time to be able to say I don't know what I'm talking about.

I would rather be educated than laughed at. That is what people have against DIR.

I don't care if I was on the boat and he told you he was Jesus. It's a simple fact you for some reason don't get: DIR divers don't dive solo. That simple. I know, it can be tough learning all of this stuff on the internet. Hopefully that solo aspect is clear now. Having gear and self-labeling do not a DIR diver make.

You're killing me.
