This whole thread on CESA has stayed pretty civil. I got myself in a twist a time or two but learned a lot.

Of course enclosed enviroments, wrecks and caves etc are no place for any CESA.

I still think that the skill itself is just one more skill any diver should have available. Perhaps it is because I have actually used it once or twice in the "old days" J-valve tanks, no PG's etc.

What I continue to take from this thread is the importance of gas management, situational awareness, redundant systems and other methods that will help reduce/eliminate the need for any CESA.

Thanks to the board.

Adobo:
What shark repellent do you carry?
I carry Batmans brand (gotta find that thread)

Just a question, how many people were killed by sharks last year and how many people were killed by elelphants?

four people died from shark attacks in 2006 (world-wide) (same as 2005)

i have no clue how many naughty elephants tramped on people, but i imagine is probably a lot more

According to the National Geographic Channel documentary Elephant Rage, some 500 people are killed by elephant attacks each year. Such attacks are becoming increasingly common, researchers say.

Now, just for giggles, how many sharks did people kill?

I guess we need to exterminate all the elephants then

I think snakes are the number one killers, bees/wasp are next .... Elephants and sharks are pretty low... I think.

But what does this have to do with CESA??

I guess we got a little of track dealing with fear of sharks and ESE, sorry.
