I started scuba diving because I received a certification course as a gift from my wife. She thought I should get into it because at the time I didn't take off much time for vacations as a self employed attorney. I fell in love with diving immediately, and have been an active diver since I was certified in 1998. We went from taking a one week trip every three or four years to taking 2 to 4 trips every year! I received my professional credential in 2000, and my wife joined me as a diver in 2002, and the rest in history. We continue in diving because it is an exhilarating thing to do, we love every dive and the people we meet and the places we go. Diving is a shared passion. We travel together, dive together, talk about diving together and write about diving together. We make public appearances and talk about diving together. ( See book and media reviews, "The Scuba Snobs Guide to Diving Etiquette".) Catch us at the Colorado Dive Show later this month. Our only regret is that we didn't get into the sport 30 years earlier. Of course, back them the equipment wasn't as good and the training was a bit more boot-camp style.
