MAP is "minimum Advertised Price" allowed per the manufacturer dealer agreement.

big difference in price on a set of fins huh? ($189 MSRP, $129 MAP, $99 MAP)

Wow! Huge difference alright. Looks like I will have to start emailing around for the best price.

This thread is great. There's so many online dealers listed that I'm not even aware of. And the fact that it's been used by the people here and recommended helps validate the dealers. Keep on the good work people!

Keep the 'list' coming... :eyebrow:

Buying strictly online runs the risk of two things 1) being gray market equipment and 2) no assistance if you run into problems. You want to look for a company that not only offers an online store but local stores as well to offer assistance.

I have used scubatoys and joediveramerica and both have been good. The shipping was prompt and the merchandise was as expected. I also buy from the LDS's where I live...So much fun gear, so little time!

I've had great experiences with Phil Ellis's Dive Sports. I haven't ordered anything from the online store yet since the physical shop is only about 30 mins away from me, but he and his employees have been very helpful and have a great selection, and EXCELLENT prices (as good as or better than LeisurePro). I got a pair of Aqualung Blades from there for almost a third what I would have paid anywhere else.

Scuba.com has a pretty good reputation. I buy most of my stuff from my local LDS which is close by and where I dive from on most weekends. If I were looking for manufacturers or stuff they don't carry, then I call one or two other stores before I go online. I don't find online pricing that much different than the any of the LDS in my area, except in the case of LP and its sale of ScubaPro and Aqualung products. It is a shame that both those manufacturers allow LP to grey market their goods while they yank distributorships from any LDS that discounts too deeply. It may be difficult for a company like CocaCola to track grey market cans of Coke that are quickly consumed and where the volume of cans is enormous, but I find it hard to believe that in the sale of regulators and other items that have serial numbers and are not sold in large volume it is all that hard.

eBay with a seller who goes by the name of scuba_discounters. They have given me some AMAZING deals. They are 100% legit and they have 2 brick and mortar stores in the Cali area called Dolphin Scuba Center. Basically, everything that I've bought from them has been about half of the price of my LDS.[/quote]

I too have bought from them and they almost just gave me a new Islander bc ( the price was too cheap) I would buy from them anytime!
