i just bought a bunch of stuff from ScubaToys....should be here Thursday. Over the phone they were very helpful.

Has anyone have any experiences with Dive Rite Express? I'm looking at getting some gears from them as they have a good deal on the Dive Rite TransPac package.
I'm located in Australia, so I've to be sure of whichever internet supplier I get my stuff from.
Look at North East Scuba Supply;)

Scubatoys for me... If you are a member of this board or the ir forum you get 10% off, and if you post 10 times in thier forum you get a gift certificates worth $10.

I just bought a pair of bio-fins and used my discount, plus if my fins don't fit they have sent a pre-paid label to ship them back and send me the right size at no cost to me.

Talk about quality service right there.
That's AWESOME info. Thanks for posting that. I'm sure it will interest plenty.

Overall I think you'll find positive reviews of Dive Rite Express.

But for their Transpac Package, at $719 it doesn't appear to include the CAM straps for the tank. Maybe that's a MAP price, but you should be able to find a better deal on that.

Thanks for that. I am new diving and newer to BP/W and Zeagle, OMS and DiveRite system. Can you (and anyone else)please PM me and let me know what are the essential items to make it a complete BC? Don't want to be too off-topic.

I don't want to trouble my LDS for all the information as I'm not getting from them; though I have to admit that it's one of my LDS that got me interested in the Zeagle, and another LDS had the DiveRite and I like the look of that. However, prices here are very inflated.

Adirondack scuba (ADIRONDACKSCUBA.COM) is an excellent place - it's more like a LDS with a website. I found it on-line but ordered everything by phone. Superb service. Divers-supply.com is a good place.

Pardon the ignorant Aussie... but what's a MAP price?
The good thing about the deal is that shipping is free. I'd added the items (plus a few other stuff) from Leisure Pro and it came to be able the same cost after adding shipping. I'm in two minds about Leisure Pro, as I'd heard stories from my LDS regarding a few of their costumers who bought from LP; though they are probably trying to discourage me from buying things are half price from US :) and get it from them instead http://www.scubaboard.com/forums/images/smilies/More Smiles/nonononono.gif

MAP is "minimum Advertised Price" allowed per the manufacturer dealer agreement.

For example, on a set of TUSA Split fins, I think the "Retail price" is somewhere around $189 bucks. At a 'full-price' LDS you should expect to pay about $189 or maybe slightly less.

However, online retailers want to sell it cheaper to compete. In order to keep the cheaper dealers from completely under selling all other dealers and whoring up the market, the manufacturer sets a MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) that is allowable per the dealer agreement. An authorized dealer cannot typically advertise locally and/or nationally this product for a price below MAP. For that set of TUSA Split fins, MAP is about $129 bucks. So it's rare that you'll see it advertised below MAP on most websites or sale fliers.

However, actual selling price that is allowed differs per manufacturer. On example of those TUSA Split fins, most dealers really don't want to sell them below MAP ($129), but they will some times as a sale on special ocassions, but they just can't advertise it. So using those split fins as an example, you can often find them on sale for around $99 bucks at some of the bigger shops, but rarely advertised for that.

big difference in price on a set of fins huh? ($189 MSRP, $129 MAP, $99 MAP)

EDIT: That should ahve been ($189 MSRP, $129 MAP, $99 SALE)
