It is funny the SP MK25 is leading, it is not a good cold water firststage. Got to be the Brand promotion.

We dive cold water quarries here at home, my dive buddy ditched his MK-25 first stages for the MK-17 after some freeflow problems with the MK-25.

BTW, I didn't vote because the Apeks XTX200/XTX100 wasn't included in your poll. :eyebrow:

Deep Down you want the best...

pretty good eh?

Thanks, but it is not that easy to find part for. Especially when I was in Asia, and not to many places carry it in Germany where i also live. Think there is only one place I know in NYC. I will have to check with an AL dealer next time I am in Germany to see if they service them. Thanks again.

OK I voted for the SP because it sells volumes of regulators and has a broad array of dealers - and is a good product. I would encourage to look at the Poseidon extreme series from Poseidon out of Sweden. From what i'm told a fairly popular brand in Europe - and good. Note neither company puts money in my pocket - I have products from both companies.

For cold water diving and deep water diving I use my Coltrisub C11000.
This years equivalent of that reg seems to be the Xtreme 110.
I have however not used the C11000 in water below 0 degrees celcius as I mainly dive in freshwater nor have I had it below 110 feet so there its a bit of a question of what you define as "deep".

I discovered something kind of contradictionary in the user manual though...
"Avoid using the regulator in water below + 10° C. You must also have been awarded a certificate in cold-water diving before using the regulator. If the regulator is used in water below 0° C do not use the regulator out of the water."
The last sentence would make perfect sense on its own. The 2nd sentence would also make sense from a liability aspect. The Last sentence in combination with the first sentence however seems a bit strange. Less than perfect translation from italian to english maybe?

I'm another Oceanic Delta 4 FDX10 user and considering it's record as a cold water regulator am surprised it isn't in the poll. The EOS hasn't been available long enough or used widely enough to see if it is up to the job. The same can be said about the Sherwood SR1 while Sherwood makes 2 regulators that are considered rock solid performers in cold water. (Maximus and Blizzard)

that is kinda confusing, so it the reg all metal?

Probably from those of us who think the G250 is a great reg, but when paired with the MK17 instead of the MK25 it fits the OP's criteria.
