well maybe a MK17/G250V OR Sherwood S1- both are environmentally sealed.

my buddy just got his 17/250V and he absolutely loves it. I know Sherwood is an Innovator in regulators so ....... it would take me a while comparing these 2 to decide

thanx for the reply i was also looking into the MK25
and into the abyss 22
both are great, but there are many still to decide from. im mostely just looking for ones that work best in ice and cold water

I would prefer the Mares proton Extreme Ice or the oceanic Delta 4 for cold deep water. But it looks like the SR1, Eos and Ions will be a good ones, but there is not much feed back yet on them. SP MK25 would not be a great 1st stage choice, the MK17 would make a better cold water reg.

id have to put some research into the mares proton EI same with the Delta 4
SR1 is pretty new, it'll take me some time to get to know it more or to hear more about it
what type of first stage would u recommend?

The Delta 4 has been around for a while. They just added the dvt this year to it. Both the Mares proton EI and the oceanic Delta 4 are approve for US Navy cold water diving. Both are excellent regs. Can not go wrong with either. The Mares Proton PE is a all metal reg with a black coating over it for added cold water protection. The Oceanic is plastic, and have a diver adjustable 2nd stage.

1st stage-environmentally seal diaphragm which both regs are
I do not dive with an adjustable 2nd stage, my wife does. There is really no big difference.

should the cvt be DVT? Dry valve technology or is cvt something new?

thanks

Ok thanks, wasn't sure if I had missed something

That DVT is pretty cool, it keeps pressure in the hoses when the regulator is removed from the tank. You can literally submerge the entire regulator without the 'dust cap' (no it's not a water cap, not meant to keep water out just dust - not everyone realizes that) on and no water will get in the first stage. We use Oceanic regs at the Tennessee Aquarium.

Ever heard of a Conself XIV Supreme? Thats my vote.
