Hi all,

I'm supposed to be getting my bp/wings today or tomorrow and wanted to start setting everything up dir; so I was wondering if there is a preferred maker for the long hose? I know some makers are stiffer than others, and I assume the more flexible the better(?), so whose do you use?

Thanks,
Mike:)

Don't know what "brand" hose it is but the 7' hose I got from Extreme Exposure is FAR more flexible (and also thinner) than the one I got from the LDS (local dive shop).

Hope that helps...

DSAO!

Hi,
I have not found much differance in the hose manufacturer - but I get all my gear thru Extreme Exposure. See:

Good luck,

I agree about EE!

I have only used long hoses from them, but I have had others from other places that were way too stiff(back-up reg.,SPG). And also I went thru a couple that had leaks when brand new from one manufacturer. Then I just started ordering all of them from EE and have not had a problem since.
You can also order in full kits from them and get the right lengths all together and that takes out all of the guess work for those new to D.I.R.
IMO, take the easy way and go EE.

Come on D.I.R.Lizard,

"turn off your brain, follow DIR like a religion and do whatever they say to... But whatever you do, don't EVER think for yourself, that's not DIR..."

While EE and Halcyon do make some great stuff and I use alot of stuff from them, they aren't the end all be all of dive gear...

I agree,
I have some Halycon stuff and I think its great, but I also like OMS's gear too.....get what you like and workds for YOU!

Why ya gonna pick on me?;-0

I like a couple of others only suggested EE, as I said, IMO , it is easy to order whole kits of the right lengths. And I have had excellent luck in dealing with them.

I never said they were the end all,be all. I said IMO.

If you want to order from somewhere else, it does not matter to me, I don't know about OMS hoses, but maybe you should check them out and while you are at it be sure to order you a Bungee wing!

I do quite well thinking for myself and was only passing on my opinion, sorry that it did not fit into your way of thinking!

I know of OMS, and it has it's followers....I see hoses on their web site, but I personally have not used or bought them...I know their backplates

I agree - I have used EE myself with good results, so I just order from them..they seem to have adequate stock all the time, and good, fast service!
