Which is the best family friendly place to go for a novice diver with youngsters?

Hi everyone

I plan to bring my kids to the islands off Tawau/ Semporna during the March school holidays, hope to do some diving (novice) whilst the kids snorkel. Any suggestions as to a family-friendly place? Kapalai resort is full for my dates and someone recommended POM POM island. Has anyone been to Pom Pom? Would be glad to hear any views or suggestions....thanks :-)
