5 Days Padangbai (OK Divers)
Not sure a family with kids would enjoy Padang Bai for 5 days, esp. OK divers.
If at least you want some nice grounds and pools that are not next to the restaurant, you should check out Puri Rai hotel or Bloo lagoon.
Or better stay on Nusa Lembongan or Nusa Penida.

What would be your Suggestions for lembongan or penida?

So we Finalized our planning:
7 Nights at Mimpi in Tulamben
5 Nights at Ok Divers in Padangbai
4 days Ubud
5 Nights komodo (Moana )
Kuta and Fly back.

I think it should be much better from diving perfective compared to our initial Thailand planning.
Do you have any recommendations for good Diving school in Tulamben / Padangbai - I am searching for small groups and good guides :)

What is the attraction of Ubud besides bus load of tourist for 4 days? It was a quiet little place 32yrs ago on my first visit but development took over since then.

Absolute scuba or Geko in Padangbai.

Similar opinion on ubud (was there 10 years ago) but we did not find a good alternative for nature - quite Hotel with Pool and not to far between Padangbai and Kuta (we Fly to komodo quite early)
If you have any better ideas - Open to hear them :)

Glad to see these posts as we are heading to Singapore in mid-July and hope to visit Komodo Island. Originally, we would like to go snorkeling in Raja Ampat but a local friend advised against it as July/August is not a good time to visit there due to strong current.

I come across Bintang Komodo Tours for liveabroad and wonder if anyone has used this tour? We are more into snorkeling and they advertise pink beach and manta point, which seem like exciting places! I checked out Mimic and Wunderpus from previous comment - fully booked in July/August. :-(

This will be our 1st trip to Indonesia and wonder if we should start in Bali. I have heard that it is a bit overpriced?

Bali is a big island with many places to stay to suit any budget. The trouble is to find where would you like to stay. The public transport is really not suitable for tourist. Aug is the time for Mola mola but the water will be relatively cold. Stay at Padangbai for the diving and then catch the ferry to one of the three Gili islands.
Sites in Komodo are far from land base resort.
Scubajunkie Komodo.
