Have you considered a liveaboard for Komodo? We went with Wumderpus on their Mimic boat last year with our 11 yo daughter (non diver) and 20 yo son (diver) and it was great!

We did a private tour and had a dive guide for our son, husband and me - our daughter had her own snorkeling guide, that allowed us to dive together, while our daughter had a blast seeing sharks, mantas and a lot of other fish.

We combined with Alor, but while I loved the island and our daughter was able to play with the owners 2 daughters, it was not that easy for her to snorkel there, so she liked til liveaboard better.
