I'm going with the abrasive resistant. Thanks for the link. Now I have to figure out which hog clips I'm going to use.
 
Unless you are installing this on a boat where it is in the sun all day (UV resistant) or cleaning boat bottoms in unregulated harbors (chemical resistant), I would say that General Purpose bungee is just fine.

As you can tell from the other link I posted, the general consensus is that big-box store bungee cord, if sold by the foot or made up with hooks, is as good as material sold as marine supplies — providing it has the tension strength you want.
 
I bought the thickest white bungee from ACE hardware. Works great for me.
