I have been too busy to log on in the last few days and have missed this thread. I wish I had logged on sooner as I may have been able to help at Nubble Light. I dive Nubble all the time. I mostly dive towards the deeper area, in the 65 to 80fsw range.
When diving at Nubble it is very easy to control your depth by just following the bottom contour. One can go as deep as they are comfortable with and then just stop reverse direction and follow the contour back to shallower waters. Diving to the north west of the entry point can be a beautiful dive , however it has its hazards. The bottom is littered with miles of filament line from cast fishermen and can cause an entanglement issue. If there are active fishermen present I would not dive that area at all, unless youd like to get hooked. Nubble is my favorite shore dive because it has available parking, a bathroom close by, a small food stand and its clean. The place is all rock, so theres no getting sand in your gear. Its also easy to get deep with out a long swim, should you lean towards that type of dive. It also makes a great night dive spot.
