I know that costs are high on Little Cayman but still willing to go there one day for the superior diving. I'm wondering where would be the most affordable place to stay for a week (or less) if I was to go myself. I'm willing to stay at a condo/apartment, room in a house or pay a single supplement at one of the resorts but would like the best pricing option.
The Scubaboard Surge trip will be at Little Cayman Beach Resort in January 2020, see the link below. There is a $500 single supplement but perhaps there is another SB member that is looking to share. I don't know if they still have any space but it might be worth checking.

Payments are due Oct 1 so act fast if you are interested!
If that doesn't work for you, then look online for a dive shop offering a group trip to LC and see if you can sign up with them and perhaps share with somebody.
Or consider traveling during the low season when prices are cheaper and pay the single supplement.
There are places to rent accommodations on LC but eating may get expensive. There is one small food store with limited supplies, a liquor store, and the Hungry Iguana restaurant. There are a few other restaurants/bars that are associated with the resorts at: Little Cayman Beach Resort, Southern Cross Club, and Pirates Pointe - but they pricey, especially when you are not on a package that includes food and lodging.
I am sure that you could arrange a dive package with one of the dive ops but you will probably need to rent a car. So by the time you add up the food, diving, accommodations, and car rental I don't think that you are going to save much, and it is more convenient to stay at a dedicated dive resort.
LCBR runs specials during the year, so you might trying call Reef Fantaseas, their usual booking agents, and tell them what you are looking for and see if they can offer anything attractive. Or they may be willing to forward your name and email to the leader of a group trip that might work for you.
Please tell us what you figure out because this is a common question, good luck!
