I dived our local mudhole ... Cove 2 ... last evening. Visibility was stellar ... in excess of 30 feet. We saw four giant pacific octopus ... one on eggs. Max depth 110 fsw. Bottom time 52 minutes. We surfaced right at the tail end of a rainstorm, to see the sun peaking through holes in the clouds, providing sparkling points of multicolored light off the wet panes of Seattle's tallest buildings.

Fantastic evening all around ...

Tied my longest dive ever today ... one hour and 46 minutes.

Last time I did that was March 2008 in Lembeh Straits, Indonesia, on an AL80 and at an average depth of 16 fsw. I barely moved 100 feet during the entire dive, and took over 100 pictures. Vis was about 80 feet and the water temp was 82 degrees.

Today was in Elliott Bay, West Seattle, on double 119's with an AL80 stage bottle, an AL40 deco bottle, and two scooters ... at an average depth of 61 fsw. I went about a mile and a half and didn't take any pictures (although I did find myself wishing for my camera a time or two). Vis was about 25 feet and the water temp was 54 degrees.

Fun stuff ... :D

So, where did you dive today? :)

Yesterday, I dove in the artificial lake of Vouglans in French Jura to see an old dam submerged at 60 metres (197 feet). The level of lake was 17 metres lower than normal (75m -> 58m).

My highest dive yet, at an altitude of 2300m, Lago del Naret in Switzerland:
46°28'38''N 8°34'07'' E

4°C, 24 min.

Around this were a number of river dives in the Verzasca and Maggia valley. Fantastic, 30m viz everywhere!
