I live in westchester NY... does anyone know of a good indoor pool facility to go warm up the regs and sorta dive on your own and practice? Looking for a cheep thrill. Does this even exist in the NY area? perhapsa pool specifically built for scuba? I saw a facility inmelborne Austrailia that was a super deep facility built just for scuba divers. I hav my own equipmet and would like to excersize them every so often and honethe skills.... any suggestions? I would like to pay no more thn $30 if its a small pool where I just gettin wet or maybe a bit more if its real interesting. Any help would be great. Thanks

try asking the ymca

I tried that locally and it was insurance prohibitive. The option was to pay a refresher fee to use it during OW classes.

If your LDS has a pool or hires into one that may be a better approach.

One time a local UW photography instructor was doing a class and we asked about chipping in for pool time and for $15 a head we were in. They did their class and we refreshed before a trip.

yeh I tried the YMCA but they want $100 for a refresher... for one hour. I mean come on its a pool. If they are worried about liability I'd sign a waiver. As long as there is a life guard or someone watching its cool! I have found other LDS are willing to do it for $60-$50 per hour... lookin to spend more like $30X3 times a year...not more.

I do not know where in Westchester you are but I live in Greenburgh(White Plains) and teach at a LDS facility here in Westchester that has an inhouse pool.Contact me via pm if interested.Pool is kept at 80 degrees. For people that have been students or customers who have purchased their gear from us its an no charge thing .For others just check with the owner and I am sure you can arrange something there with no problems.

ok wait a minute... The only indoor pool at a LDS in westchester is SCUBA NEW YORK. that is where I got my certs so I think you were my instructor... I remember something about the pool use being free to those getting certified by scuba NY now. How can I set this up?
