My best dive buddy is my Pony Bottle. It never leaves my side.

Arduous ..............

There's more to a good buddy than just being your alternate air source. This is getting off topic, but I don't think it is particulary wise to be overly confident in a pony bottle. A pony isn't a good substitute for a good buddy, IMO. To each his own, but one should thoroughly think through what is expected out of a pony and why.

Food for thought. :)

Yoop...as I read your post tears were streaming down my face....
Man.... those chinese peppers are hot....
But I do love General Tso's Chicken for lunch....

Let me bring your post and Arduous' post together on topic...

Uncle bought a 19cf pony to give it a try once upon a time....
He even back mounted it like a good stro... er....old boy...
We anchored the boat in a ripping current and Uncle back rolled off....
Once at the anchor line Uncle turned to see what was taking his buddies so long....
That's when the anchor line decided to wrap around the pony's valve...
"Cool" I sez, "Now I don't have to hold on."
When my buddies finally made it to the anchor line I was good and rested...
As the last one was getting ready to descend I asked him to unhook me....
Buddies are good for things like that....
And ponies are good for things like that too...

Never seen a Pony help me on with my kit, laugh "with" me went I do one of those forgetful things, doesn't remind me to turn on my tank, and doesn't buy me beer afterwards.

I'll take a buddy over a Pony.

(Ponies however are good for Hobbits and small children to ride!)

I know this is not the song section, but youse guys inspired me... With the usual apologies to Rhymin' Simon, his fans and followers and all those who could relate to "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover"

50 ways to ditch your buddy…

I take my diving seriously, I don’t think that it’s a joke.
But, I began to understand that my buddy was a stroke.
He was always leaving me alone and would never dive our plan
There’s got to be, 50 ways to ditch your buddy…
Oh yeah, 50 ways to ditch your buddy!

Dive off the back, Jack.
Make a new dive plan, Stan.
Don’t need to be rude, Jude.
Just listen to me!

Dive off the Keys, Lee.
Don’t give him no tanks, Hank.
Just loose his mask, Trask,
And set yourself free!

He just went deeper down the wall: I couldn’t go.
You just can’t go down that deep with NitrOx, don’t cha know.
So, I signaled our Divemaster and then I pointed down below,
There’s got to be, 50 ways to ditch your buddy…
Oh yeah, 50 ways to ditch your buddy!

Just find a new Stroke, Bloke.
Or why don’t cha leave, Steve.
Maybe dive alone, Stone.
Or there’ll be hell to pay!

Disguise your dry suit, Newt.
Try a new pond, Don.
Get on your trike, Mike…
Or just float away!!!

Don’t let him hunt bugs, Pug,
Oh try a new trick, Rick.
Don’t pick up a slob, Bob.
Why can’t ya’ll just see?

Don’t take it so hard, Ard.
But they ain’t that hot, Scott.
And they’re just gonna bob, Hobbs
JUST SET YOURSELF FREE!

NetDoc pens a song...
Loveit!
Rick

Uncle Pug, from you that is a compliment indeed. Actually, so you know I actually have a life, I usually get my inspirations while driving to client sites. I spend a lot of time in my little truck, and sometimes the radio is just annoying. So I get an idea, flesh it out on the road, and it takes me five or ten minutes actual PC time to write it out. Sometimes while waiting for a computer to download a long file, or during a lengthy install, I will hit another PC and cruise over here. Being a doctor for PC Networks has it's benefits.

Good stuff Pete. You are VERY creative. :tree:Bob
