Hi folks! I'm getting ready to leave Saturday morning for a trip to San Carlos, Mexico to do my checkout dives and finally be OW certified! I've been packing and started wondering what the veteran divers out there have in their dive bags.

What are your absolute necessities to have on board the boat pre-dive, during surface intervals, etc?

Thanks in advance!

Dive Gear
Water

Dive gear, save-a-dive kit, hat, windbreaker, towel, water, chap stick, fruit, extra mask, money for tips and DAN Id card.

Dave (aka "Squirt")

I carry a small ziplock baggie with single packs of aspirin, ibuprofen, sudafed, Bonine, ginger pills, etc. I also keep a couple individually wrapped cough drops in there as well as a couple band aids, a pair of fingernail clippers (variety of uses), a power bar and a few first aid odds and ends. Doesn't take up much space, yet can certainly make a boat trip more comfortable.

Reg, BC, Mask, Fins and snorkel. I also bring spare mask straps, fin straps and other minor repair stuff. A nice big towell is always nice to have. I bring my log book as well as at least 1 c-card.

Dive lights,safety sausage,signal mirror,whistle. Dive buddy  .

Save a dive kit, DSMB + Reel (Safety Sausage), Spray Bandage, Three Torches (Main & Two Backup), Breath Mask, One Fin strap with fittings (carried in BC pocket), One fin strap without (left in kit bag), Dry Bag for either storing items I need to stay dry, or carrying wet items in places I want to stay dry, a towell, Log book and cards.

Along with the usual dive kit.

Tool kit/save a dive, batteries, de-fog, swimmer's ear drops, and finally, all of my dive gear.
