What's a good tank size?

Seems like tanks are available if you can jump on them quickly. Have a lead on a Faber 12.2l at the moment but dependant on the chap being able to bring it down to Sydney (fear I might miss out on it).

Pretty sure I'm set on a 12.2l Faber though and a second at a later date.

Still trying to find more of the 80 Liter tanks

I assume that's a typo, otherwise the underside of a semi tractor (lorry?) would be a good place to start.

Ideally you would want to get 2 matching tanks at the same time whether used or new since most days are 2 tank days in my experience and having to still rent one makes owning the other rather pointless.
Plus I have been told the tank construction changes from time to time so the dimensions or buoyancy of them might be slightly different even on the same size tank manufactured at different times, though I don't know how accurate that is.

It is handy to have a second tank tho if you are likely to do doubles. We didn't get our tanks at the same time but they are consistent and don't require any changes to the cam bands unless we go from the 8 L to the 10's I don't see the manufacturer varying the construction that much that there would be a noticeable difference. That assumes it is the same Manufacturer of course.

I've managed to source a Faber 12l tank. It's a short tank which I suspect may not be ideal but I'll give it a go first before I decided if I keep it or not.

Apparently the short tanks make you tip head down which may not be a bad thing as I have very sinky feet.

At least it will get me in the water and I can grab a tall 12l Faber at some point and see which one I prefer.
