How do you expect to get a % if you don't have a confirmed non tech selection? Other is ambiguous.

Now if I aspire to get certified in ice diving, an overhead environment am I a tech diver wannabe?

Pete

Well I just signed up for Advanced Nitrox and Deco Procedures, so I guess that makes me a future tech diver. I've also been under the ice about 3 weeks ago.

Is #3 like being "Bi-curious"?

Haven't got the training yet. I'm definitely going to get cave trained, and if I want to dive caves in Florida, I'll need Tech 1, too.

Seems odd, though, not to include non-deco cave diving in the technical diving category. Hard overhead is generally regarded as technical.

Yeah, I was trying to put the diver who takes an ice or wreck specialty on the rec side. That's why I stipulated deco diving. In retrospect, neither the definition nor the poll are very good.

Oh well. I've had better moments.... :)

I hit No - I'm not a technical diver, but interested. I haven't been diving long enough to really get into tech divign yet. I'm still enjoying the quarries for what they. My only question here for the ice-diving community I have my rec ice cert, and after reading the definition of a tech diver I've got to ask. Have you ever heard stories of someone diving their way into deco under the ice? All the tech divers that were present when I did my course. I know none of them have ever gotten into deco but really has anyone? The coolest part of the ice dive for me was the ice and staying pretty close to the surface?

I am a Wanna Bee tech diver. And someday my goal is to become the real thing. I already deep mandatory DECO diving but i dont consider myself a tech diver.
