To you guys diving North Carolina regularly...

Since I'd like to make a week trip out of a 2 1/2 day event, can you recommend one, two or three other MUST SEE dives in the area of Beaufort/Morehead???

Since I was on subs for 10 years in the Navy, the U-352 seems an obvious choice to me, but if you guys had to make two dives before moving to the Sahara Desert, which two would it be?

My only real limitations are less than say 120 feet and minimal current unless it's a drift dive. (I just don't like to work that hard. :-) )

Opinions??

I dive out of Morehead City several times a year. One of my favorite wrecks is the Papoose. There are usually several sand tiger sharks on this dive, which always makes for a great dive.

Other wrecks that I recommend are the Schurz, the Spar, and the Aeolus.

I hope you have a great week of diving the NC coast!

I'm new to this board but dive the Crystal Coast wrecks almost daily. As far as recommendations, generally the closer to the Stream you get, the better the viz and warmer the temps. Unfortunatly the higher the potential for strong currents and increased depths factor in as well. The east side of Cape Lookout tends to hold more sand tiger sharks more often with the Carib Sea, Nancy Lee, and Atlas tanker generally falling within your parameters of depth and current. The sub is a nice dive and would recommend it for historical value. Papoose, Spar (new AR sunk last summer), Aeolus, and the Schurz are great dives as well. My personal favorite dives are as follows.

1. Naeco - stern section- 120-135' depths
2. Papoose - 100-120'
3. Schurz - 115'
