I have the Oceanic Vesa wrist mount. If I was going to do it again, I would upgrade my choice to the Vesa Pro.

I put it on my right wrist when I am using a wet suit, and on my left wrist when I am using my drysuit. That way, I can watch the ascent speed indicator and monitor my depth while doing the "broken wing" ascent when I am using my dry suit.

Versa, not Vesa. (What an Idiot :D)

I have the Suunto Vyper in a console with the compass on the back. I'm still working out where I attach the retractor, but last dive I had it so that I could look down and see the display hands free.

Of course, ascents will wrangling the dive flag, inflator hose and monitoring ascent rate on the computer can be a bit of a juggling act, but I have a reason for putting the computer in a console. I tend to do alot of shore diving, some of those are very rocky entries that we dive on not the calmest of days. With my computer on the console I can tuck it inside my BC before I begin my exit. I use my arms to protect my body from the rocks, so having an expensive computer on the end of my arm seems like an easier way to break it.

After a get alot more dives on my Vyper I'll really know.

I just converted to diving with a computer and had been diving off of tables since I certified in 2000. Personally, I love the computer, especially not having to remember to set the dive watch and/or not accidentally spin the bezzel during the dive. I still work out the tables for planning and in my log afterwards.. force of habbit I guess.

ORCA Pilot that will handle Nitrox. Now unlike pug, it doesn't live in gauge mode, and there is nothing wrong with that, but I do back up my dives with tables...I also have a back-up bottom timer and depth gauge on my SPG. So if the thing does fail....I can still dive using common sense. Now, I don't do a lot of technical crap (but I want to) so almost all of my dives are rec. or training dives with students. I like my computer, it had an ascent alarm set to 30ft/min. My computer isn't fancy, but it is functional. Alright...later for now

and like it. Nice program to download to computer (though it could be improved). So far, after about 20 dives with it, I really like it. Once complaint I have is that it really wants you to ascend sloooowwwwww. It took a while to be able to ascend without bells and whistles and alarms etc. Maybe this is a good thing, but it sure seems overly conservative.

Hey I'm now in the Chattanooga area, however, I used to live in a little town near the Smokies where Kenny came from and have met him and dined with him several times right before he hit it big. He used to perform at the County fair. He frequented a restaurant owned by clients of mine. Where are you from? Gayle
