U/W photography is an expensive hobby. I wonder what you amateur photographers out there do for a living to support such and expensive habit (it is sooo addicting!).

I will start... I am a civil engineer for a local govt agency. I live in Monterey so even though the pay is good, the cost of living is extremely high. The advantage is diving is a step away. Traveling is limited because of the high cost of living. I go to Brazil once a year to see family and will be able to go to Hawaii this summer (because of a conference).

I searched and couldn't find a previous post on this, so sorry if I am replicating something!

Investment manager with one of Canada's big banks. Decent pay, enough to fund a few toys including a rebreather. Diving is generally withing 2-3 hours in the great lakes. Some amazing wreck diving...

commercial driving instructor+assistant diving instructor, pay is good and the second is fun , though the diving is three hours away as monterey is my favorite place, well that and now the phillipines, cant afford to go there (phillipines ) often though!! love underwater photography and will skip other fun things to fund the photography if i must!!!!:D

flipping remodelled houses and being a very reasonable, kind and forgiving X-wife.

Photographer above water. :D
