I have a Radiator with the cooling tubes for the automatic I'm stupid in it and I have a manual so it's not used, then I ran tubing with a small pump for an rv that runs on 12v and got a shower head and put on one end and I take the other end and stick in a 5 gallon water jug that I bring with me and it's good for 2-3 showers. Just get the engine hot and let it idle, the water generally come out about 95-110 degrees. Feels great!!! If your next to a stream you can use that also...

now that's pretty darn cool.

as someone who's greatest ingenuity with their "scuba mobile" is to make sure I don't forget to bring the rubbermaid container and to spread the tarp in the trunk before I go, I can imagine that your dive buddy probably thinks your hot water setup is the greatest thing since sliced bread. ;)

Sorry but I think I should add some more info, the NEW Dodge Ram 4X4, 360, long wheel base, Rhino bedliner, with a hard cover.

Of course my wifes NEW Toyota 4 RUNNER LIMITED is not allowed. :out:

Great set up with Jeep Grand Cherokee and small trailer. Have the trailer set up for tanks to stand up around sides and center for equipment boxes. Leaves the Jeep for coolers and people. Up side is don't have to get the inside of Jeep wet from equipment. Have had 6 sets of doubles, plus stage bottles and equipment for three divers easily in trailer. Have self for tool box and repair box. No need to worry about what was left behind as most spare and repair stuff just stays in trailer.

i just upgraded the size of my mobile from my red chevette to a full size ford f150 V8 still an older truck but at least it can handle the 5 tanks and weight belts and suits and etc,etc,etc...
the poor little P.O.S. chevette finally died one evening on the way home from a dive ,
i think the shower hook up is a great idea and it sounds like a plan for a P.O.S i got :D

Plenty of room for all my gear (including 2 tanks, first aid, and save-a-dive kit) in the back, and there's a trunk under the wagon "bed" for vehicle emergency stuff. If I fold down a back seat, there's room for another diver's gear, and it gets good mileage. One of the best things though, is the retractable cover that I can stretch over the back, which hides my gear when I have to leave the car unattended on a dive trip.

I am an environmentalist & still cannot get over the guilt that I own a CAR! For the 1st 7 years I lived in Los Angeles, I rode my bike & the bus. Then I heard about a co-worker who didn't really want to sell his never-say-die '82 Toyota Tercel, & was offering $100/wk installment payments toward the $1400 purchase price.

I justified the cost by saying, "I'll use it to freelance, & make it pay for itself in a month." I beat my own goal with youthful insanity & caffiene. When I got married, I said, "Hey, there's no reason for us not to become divers, now!"

The poor little rice-burner (a shameful symbol to my native Illinois) is loaded to the hatchback with gear now. A dive trip to Mexico trashed the original engine, so I just BOUGHT ANOTHER!!! I think this little asian divemobile deserves all the love I can give it. Tercels are famous "1st dive cars" in my area (they usually succumb to salt-water from wet gear), but I defy my husband's '92 Ford Taurus to outlast my '80's relic. And while I'm at it, LONG LIVE MOTLEY CRUE!

I've got a 78, yes 1978, GMC 3/4T Camper Special. It carries a 10 1/2 ft. slide in camper loaded with hot/cold running water, shower, bathroom, air conditioning, fridge (gotta have a beer after da divin's dun!) etc...

We set up a large tent, with a tarp on the ground inside for changing and hanging wet gear.

It's a rare thing to go diving without making it a weekend affair. However when on day trips, the "little" extras you get with a large camper sure makes it nice.

No diving anywhere near here...I get on a jet and fly. So far...Cozumel, Hong Kong, Borneo....reurning to Coz for 6 weeks. Leave a week from today!! Yahoo!!! Anyroad...you left out non-land-based scubamobiles;)

The poll I'd really be interested in is how everyone packs for scuba air travel...what do you stick it in? What do you carry on as opposed to check as luggage?? I'd design a poll...but I haven't figured out how yet:confused:
