Anyone ever dive at Wolf Run Lake near cambridge Oh?

Buddy and I are talking about checking it out as a place to do mid-week practice dives.

Any experience with it or other places near it would certainly be appreciated!

Just in case anyone is interested....

Wolf Lake is exit 28 off of Interstate 77 and located about 2 miles away from the interstate- very convenient to get to, especially from the Marietta OH and/or Cambridge Oh area.

Check in at the park office was very smooth- all done on a verbal- something along the lines of "we were hoping to go diving" and a reply of "ok" and some directions to where some of the other divers go (?!? not sure who, but hmmm).

Buddy and I were directed to go to the dam area where it was noted to be around 60' deep.

Relatively easy walk in access, though the final bank down to the water is mud w/ rocks and would probably be exceptionally slippery with a little bit of rain or dew.

Vis was poor, probably in the 0-2' range for most of our dive. But as we moved along and kept going down it eventually seemed to clear up at about 40' of depth to somewhere in the 5' maybe 7' range, at least you could see ahead of yourself a little. We didn't break out of the 40' depth, but we didn't have much time left on our planned turn time either.

There's certainly "more there" or at least more bottom to see/feel...

So its certainly not great diving, but for a local dive spot... it certainly has some possibilities!

Currently having thoughts on possibly laying some line and possibly placing a few objects to make the mud bottom possibly more interesting and/or followable.

Anyone know of who else is diving there? and/or is there a better spot to go?

Dave
