You may be right, I'v only used a Predator side by side with my X1 on one occasion. I do find however, that there are so few numbers, they're set out so well, & of course I'm so used to the X1 by now, that it would be hard not to see the info I'm looking for at a glance.
 
I think multi colour OLED screens are prettier, but I don't think they're any more readable than mono colour OLED screens.

Highest contrast is yellow on black so with respect to color, that is the "most readable." The addition of colors, however, does allow more flexibility and doesn't really take away from the contrast as much as I'd initially thought it would.

The other consideration with the Xen is that with more "real estate" on the screen, we were able to make the information larger. Size of the font is definitely a contributing factor.
