Well first I would like to say that for every job you should use the right tools!
I agree with Jeff that the best over all regulator has to be one that can survive the worst conditions.With that being said I to use a sealed Apeks reg and a AL Glacia.These regulators work well in extreme cold waters and they work as well in warm water conditions. The only place I have had a problem was with the regulator flooding in a 7 mph current were it was able to push water behind the exhaust diaphragm, but that is some extreme diving.
