I've got HOG Classic second-stages with the knob and the lever. My primary has the knob wide-open and the venturi lever set to "Max". For my octopus, I keep the lever at "Min" and only close the knob down enough to make free-flows less likely. You can still breathe on it in that configuration, but it'll be easier if you flip the lever to Max.

Seems to work so far. I used to have the knob tightened down more on my octo but I had a buddy breathe off it once during a wreck diving class and he commented that it was pretty tough to breathe from.

Some regulators, like the G260 also incorporate a seat saver function by pressing the purge button and rotating it to a lock position (no, it cannot lock in use).
I did not know this… I just reread the manual to see if I missed something (still didn’t see it) and had to go try it on one of mine. Sure enough- depress and counter clockwise 1/8 turn.

I used to use a “purge depress button” on my old Dacor Pacer to the same effect.

SP regs had this a long while, 108/109/BAs had the blue key then it got dropped with the plastic 250, and the feature only came back with the 250HP/V and the 260, some r190s also had them, the r195 as well

G500s/1st gen s600 had the pneumatic seat saver balanced chamber (but it wasn’t everyone’s flavor)

Now you can store the 260 better for a long shelf-tune-life 😉
