I played around with the Deepblu app on my iphone. I was able to skip the login and access the settings. Assuming it will still sync with Subsurface, the Cosmiq would seemingly still be fully functional by using the Deepblu app only for settings by skipping the log in, and using Subsurface to sync your log. How long the Deepblu app remains on the app store or not removed by Apple is anybody's guess though.
I just bought a used Cosmiq+ "for parts" off eBay from a non-scuba seller who said it didn't come with a charging cable so didn't know if it worked. I have a Cosmiq+ and charging cable and was very happy that my $40 gamble paid off and it charged up and powered on.
I had no idea that Deepblu had gone out of business until I couldn't log into the app and I started Googling and found this thread.
Yes, I too was able to skip logging in and was able to change the settings from C to F etc and I downloaded the Subsurface app and sync it with the Cosmiq+ downloading someone else's dive log, which I promptly deleted.
So that works, but no way I see to clear the computers logbook other than to overwrite it or check the UG to see if there's a "factory reset" that can be done using the computers buttons.
So, I've now got two, a primary and a backup, and I was able to download the app from the Google Play Store on my tablet, so I should be good until they die for whatever reason. Bummed that the site is gone but not really into social networking so didn't use it much anyway.
I also recently picked up an Oceanic VT4.0 that is absolutely pristine with only 16 (of 24) dives logged. The history say 16 dives and 30 hours which I believe is the lifetime total. The dives were from July/August 2024, ten years ago.
I was going to sell it now for a very nice profit (Paid $75 total) But now with the Deepblu's being unsupported, I think it best to keep the Oceanic "just in case"....
