Some members are responding as if Cozumel is their only child and is getting beat up in the locker room for his lunch money.
That is your opinion; I do not share it. It's not surprising that many people who have an affinity for a place will participate in a forum dedicated to that place. It's also not surprising that when someone goes to such a forum and posts a bunch of negative stuff about the place, there will be other participants who disagree.

I disagree with a lot of what you have posted here. Big deal. If you don't want to read what I have to say, use the ignore button.

Of course it's my opinion and I'm well aware of the ignore button which I have no use for because I don't get offended by words some anonymous stranger types on their keyboard especially when it's a description about a geographical location and not an attack on an individual which is what you are acting like I did.

What is fact and not opinion is that Cozumel, as well as most places in the Carribean and Mexico have significantly deteriorated in terms of the marine life and corals over the last few decades. That is not subject to opinion or debate.

That is true as far as it goes; coral reef decline is a worldwide problem. How much the reefs around Cozumel have suffered and whether they are worth diving anymore is, however, very much a matter of opinion. You know what mine is.

I'm glad you enjoy your diving there, and I'm equally but inversely unhappy that most places I've dived in Mexico and the Caribbean are no longer worth it to me.

Apparently you have never been diving in the Sea of Cortez.

Nope. I'm guessing it's better than anything in Mexico or the Caribbean.
You are relentless. Completely different topography and diving experience. Rocky shores (instead of reefs) with lots of seal lions, whale sharks, mobulas, giant jawfish, dolphins etc. The seal lions are a riot and worth the expense of a liveaboard trip.

Sounds like an interesting place to dive. I like the big stuff.

I see no particular point in being unhappy about something over which I have no control; I try not to let what something isn't prevent me from appreciating what it is. If the result of your calculation is that Cozumel is not worth going there, then so be it. The result of mine is different. DSFDF
