There is never an analyzer on our boat except ours. This year one other person asked to use it. One time I wasn't sure which tanks we would be diving so I analyzed some that were not ours. The guy that was going to use them got kinda snarky with me.Maybe I missed it in your post, but did the dive op state that there would be an analyzer on board? I never assume there will be one.
Yes, but tanks or two tank trips? It looks like it might mean $100 per diver per two tank trip, which is a little high but not exorbitantly so in these days and times. When I started diving 30 years ago I think I was paying US$30-40 per trip but those days are gone for good.2 x 4 is still 8 isn't it?
Did you cost him a minute or two of bottom time when you tested his tank? There is never an analyzer on our boat except ours. This year one other person asked to use it. Yes, for the first time this year it cost us more than $100/diver day on Coz. Last year the peso was up in relation to the dollar so I understood the increase. This year the peso was way down, so not so clear. On the other side they quoted me very close to the same peso price last year and this year. Made diving a little cheaper but I gave them more anyway cause the owners are the divemasters and I really like them.Yes, but tanks or two tank trips? We first dove Cozumel in 2008 and it was one of our first destination dive trips.
The first day of diving went fine enough- my BCD inflator was broken and the DM swapped me his setup.
The boat was to pick us up at 7:40 and by 8am there was no boat and no text. I texted the dive shop and they said they would be there at 8:15.
We stayed at Allegro- there were people having sex in the hot tub at 4pm and the food (other than the Asian) was terrible.
Someone please tell me Bonaire hasn’t suffered this same fate?
For some ops, maybe, but certainly not for all of them.Typical boat pickup in Cozumel [over half an hour late], nothing out of the ordinary
Most shops are now charging atleast $100 plus marine park fees for 2 tank dives. Blue Angel is near $120 plus taxes. The ambiguity, I believe, is what you mean by "4 dives". Are you counting trips on a boat or tanks in the water? $100 per diver per two tank outing is a little steep but not all that unusual, but $100 per tank is way out of line. Also, are you renting equipment?
Not surprising, I guess. Inflation hits us all. I'd hate to think of what it costs to dive in Hawaii these days. Most shops are now charging atleast $100 plus marine park fees for 2 tank dives. Blue Angel is near $120 plus taxes.
