Bathing suit. Except in winter when I don & doff the wetsuit in the house-- then commando, saves rinsing the bathing suit.

I sit on my balls commando and the rest is almost equally uncomfortably displaced

Competition style brief, aka Speedo, but I prefer the Arena brand. I’m particular about anything bunching up. Same for tucking in my t-shirts and dress shirts for the office. Anyways, I don’t cruise around the boat in my swim briefs. I’m either in a surf robe, my wetsuit or I switch to regular fitness shorts. On LOBs, I take two briefs so I have a dry one to change into when dry.

Doesn’t it affect your C.G and horizontal trim? Too low or too high at times perhaps? Do you find yourself shifting uncomfortably frequently on your dives? I shall well marvel if you tell me you are perfectly balanced in horizontal trim at all times … 😉

Back to the topic - I’ve been using no name no-brand thinnish swimming pool jammers for many years going “budgety” until I recently discovered speedo jammies - they keep me warm, being thick enough to hide the “details” when you exit the pool all shrivelled up, and come in various fashionable color options…

I find that wearing a hood and staying warm at the “core” (with good swimwear inside my 0.5mm steamer) even in tropical waters makes a huge difference to my sense of well being on dive trips that involve 5-6 days of daily diving. One thing that surprised me on a LOB to Maldives was that during an impromptu group conversation on the Dhoni on the last day of diving, a bunch of ‘Muricans and Brit’s on the boat all complimented me on my common sense idea of wearing a hood always… people whom I expected to be accustomed to colder water… guess they all came under-prepared for diving in tropical waters thinking they had seen worse… but it was not just the hood for me… the extra bit of warmth from a good pair of jammies can make you happier than the “happiest of divers” … :rofl3:

why the lycra socks?
Two reasons: (1) your feet slide into the legs of your wetsuit much easier (esp if wet), and (2) they help avoid developing "hot spots" from any chafing in your dive boots for open heel fins (the only kind I own).
