Note: the warning about bananas applies only to boats that are not yellow. There is no prohibition on bananas aboard yellow boats.
I know a gal who once bought a yellow VW. "You intentionally bought a lemon?!"

What is wrong with bananas? That, plus a can of seltzer, is my favorite SI snack.
Many captains consider them bad luck - enough that it's an insult to take them. ;)

Well lets see...I decided to take a banana back to my bunk on a liveaboard to let it ripen...well a herd of cockroaches... errr palmetto bugs enjoyed it:D when I got home everything stayed bagged up tight on the front porch until they were either froze or suffocated! See you at dinner Friday Don!!!

Niel: Palawan Way is good. And, I've posted a photo of the boat. But, where on Palawan Way? Beer: Bud, Bud Light, but if you show up, I'll supply whatever you want.

Yeah, I doubt that the Coz captains care, but in the US and Bahamas, they can be touchy.

I visited a friend in Florida once who was on a very, very tight budget. When I got home, nothing came in the house until its turn to be washed with bleach. :11: Guess I killed the eggs - no bugs in my house, other than the natives one we get in farmhouses anyway.

Long Island Iced Tea is for kids. We ran into something called Hawaiian Iced Tea. Much more potent.

My wife decided it might be nice to meet my boat at the dock after a long distance race with enough of this stuff for the crew. She scaled up the ingredients enough to make a gallon of the stuff. The recipe for a single serving called for something like an an ounce of malibu rum, an ounce of vodka, a half-ounce of this and a half ounce of that and a splash of something else and then fill the rest of the glass with ice and Sprite. My wife forgot to account for ths ice and Sprite in scaling the mix up. She used like a quart of rum and a quart of vodka, etc. Suffice it to say, we ended up with like 20 gallons of usable booze. We were in no condition to attend the awards ceremony or bring the boat home.

 Sounds like a DIY coma!

"Here, kid. Drink this. It'll put hair on your chest!" :14:

DIY coma, that sounds about right. It still hurts to think about it. Best thing is that summer is just around the corner and we get to do it all over again.
