I'm aware that Kubi discourage the use of silicone lube as it can swell O-rings. I know they sell an exensive lube tat seem similar to O2 safe lube. I also know quite a few people use good old saliva.

Has anyone used a water-based personal/sexual lubricant from the local drugstore / chemists? Seems like that ought to be a fairly benign option, no?

I use sex lube on the inside of my silicone wrist seals to make them easier to don/doff and use "Super Lube synthetic grease" on my dry glove o-rings, but mine are the thinner orings sandwiched between rolock 90 system rather than that thicker orange ring for kubis that the glove ring passes over in the short direction. Either way, spare dryglove orings are something I'd have with me in the toolkit, not in case they swell, but for when I get a crack or sand abrasion.

Used KY on the o-rings for several years diving almost every day doing underwater bridge inspection - did get a few strange looks buying 6 tubes at a time...
