Hi all!

My fiance has a burning desire to see whalesharks, and we're currently planning our honeymoon. So being the smart gal that I am I thought maybe we could find some whalesharks in September.

I was wondering what folks recommendations were for finding whale sharks in Sept? Do you recommend any location or operation?

Thanks,
Moon

Reputedly, off the southern end of Belize in the Placentia area is a good one for regular sightings of whale sharks. Not sure specifically if Sept is a good month though.

Cabo Pulma is supposed to be a good place to see Whale Sharks. Read Pepe's Dive reports. here
Or the Sea of Cortez here

Tofo Beach, Mozambique. Its supposed to be best from Oct to Mar, but still there year round. I saw 12 on one boat ride. Apparently, this is not exceptional there.

Some acquaintances of mine did a liveaboard in the Galapagos and raved about the whale sharks there. Of course, its a liveaboard in the Galapagos.

March through June, at certain days around the full moon.

Went to Galapagos last year in September and saw whale sharks on every dive at Wolf and Darwin Islands. I went onboard the Peter Hughes liveaboard. June to October is the supposed whale shark season for the Galapagos.
