Hello, heading to KT tomorrow and have heard people are seeing whale sharks this season ... are they in? I think I'll stay there until I see one. ;-)

I hope for you that you'll see one within a few days time, I honestly do.
But the odds are that you'll diving and diving and diving and NOT see one for a very looooooooong time.
Bring enough green and at least two T-shirts and shorts. That will do.

Post up if you see any, I'm heading down there the beginning of May!

We had a sighting of one at Chumphon Pinnacle in early March when I was diving there a few years ago... of course I missed it because I was diving deep.

Saw one today at Chumporn Pinnacles.

We were there for two quite long deco dives while other boats were nipping in and out and their divers were having a great time swimming with the whale shark.

She was still there when we left, very nice, very freindly , about 5m ish

Of course the west coast lot have more , and bigger, and spottier, and more whale sharkish ,

Jamie

No pics? I am still waiting to see my first one. Will the Westies really make those claims...

Sorry no pics, not really my thing.

Not that much chance of whale sharks in Pattaya since the vertical wreck re-surfaced, saw 4 together there once. You'll have to bring a trip down here and we'll arrange a shark, Queen's birthday weekend is a good bet

Only kidding about the Westies, just makes me laugh every time I see a thread/enquiry about Gulf diving hijacked

And we have 'em here all the time. In fact, there are so many whale-sharks here that it's hard to see the other stuff while diving...
:D
