I been looking around and trying to figure out what to buy for a wetsuit for the Gulf of Mexico and TX fresh water dives. I know i want a black, black/gray, or a black/blue (As long as the blue isn't too bright) wetsuit. problem is I don't know what brand or if I should be going with a jumpsuit or a shorty. It appears that most of my diving will be around the summer, early fall, and late spring.

Any ideas or recommendations?

Most of the lakes I have dove here in texas get to about 80 at the surface but at depth they stay about 50 - 60. Based On that I would not go with a shorty. Personal preference - If i were going to wear a wetsuit it would be a 1 pc jump suit. I was fine in a 3mm but some like 5 - 7 for those temps.
I have not owned one but people on this board like the "goldcore" they are more bouyant but they are warmer. Hopefully a goldccore owner will stop by and verify this for me.

You can dive with just the jacket if it's bathtub warm, add the farmer john, vest, hood, gloves as the temps go down. I am comfortable to about 60F with all the layers on.
