If someone would be so kind as to send me direction or an address so I can mapquest it (still working on that babysitter:06:) I also have 2 tanks. If I can make it I'd be happy to share ...no charge:D

Do you guys mind a rookie diving with you on Monday? My dive buddy for my Saturday dive I had lined up just bailed on me. Thanks.

Click on the Brodie Park link from that page and it will give you some map quest directions that are accurate to Brodie Park on West Hill. They are accurate, although towards the end, you just end up following signs. I'm assuming that's where we'll be leaving from since that's got the most parking that I know of and a nice easy entry.

Epconti, I'm a rookie myself. So far I have found myself to be invited on quite a few dives. The people seem to be really nice and willing to share their knowledge with you. Are you still interested in a Saturday morning dive? I wouldn't mind going in the morning tomorrow. And then going again on Monday? Let me know by email or check your PM for a phone number I can be reached at.

Shane

I'm looking forward to meeting all of you who dive Monday morning.

And yes, Brodie Park is the spot. It's on the east side of the lake.

Shane, thanks for the link with the directions.

There's also some interesting information on the area including a link to a depth chart at the State DEP website. The link is: http://dep.state.ct.us/cgnhs/lakes/westhill/lake.htm.

I don't have any spare air. Otherwise I would have been happy to lend.

Midnite, good luck with a babysitter.

And I'm also a beginner. A few of my friends showing up are quite experienced, though.

See everyone Monday.

This changes things abit. If I can I may join you all Monday morning.

Thank you so much for the directions (hope I don't get lost) I just got home from Jamestown. Filled both my tanks before I left so, anyone is welcome to use one. If someone who is going could leave me a contact number (in case I DO get lost) I'd appreciate it:D

Is there parking and diving allowed at brodie park. We always went from the boat launch. Will be interesting to dive from a different location.

Chris

Diving is allowed from Brodie Park. You just head out along the outer edges of the swimming area. We went today and the vis wasn't that great because of the wind creating some chop, but still a decent dive. Looking forward to diving Monday morning. Sounds like a decent group going. I was able to get my tank filled today after the dive, so I should be good.
Midnite, check your PM for a contact number in case you need it.

The OSS was closed for training today Sunday. The owner actually gave me a free tank and let me drop it off at the end of the day on the porch. What a shop. I highly recommend the OSS; they are great people. I'm buying a little something from them on my next visit. Their banks were shut down; so after my 2 dives at Ft Wetherill, I'm empty now. Tomorrow I go for a bike ride, do groceries, and over to my brother's. I hope everyone has a great dive and please post a report refering to diving Brodie park and compass headings taken. I like Westhill especially those days were the ocean is just too choppy to dive. If anyone wants to dive the dam area at Bashan lake (moodus) sometime, please let me know. It's not as good as westhill but heck it's a dive and the water is usually cllear also,

Take care

Chris
