Bruce,
I see that you're in Middletown? Right down the road from me in Wethersfield. You said you're usually up for a Sunday dive? Any chance of a Saturday in there? I'm working this Sunday and I have to attend my sister's wedding next Sunday so I'm not sure I could get out during these two upcoming Sunday's. I'd love to get in the water though. Saturday was my first time at West Hill at the recommendation of ScubaSarus. It was definatly an enjoyable dive and from the sounds of it, there's still a lot more to see down there which we didn't get to.
Looking forward to diving with you.
Shane

I dove West Hill Pond last fall and found it a great place for diving. Visibility was very good for this region, and I'm looking forward to going back

We didn't make it out to the pinnacle but could see it from shore. I'd like to explore it.

Whoever dove there yesterday, what was the water temperature?

I was at Ft. Wetherill in Jamestown on Saturday and I think my computer showed 52 degrees.

I do not have a lot of flexibility or time for diving, but if anyone posts planned dives for West Hill Pond and is open to other divers joining up, I'd love to meet up.

Thanks.

I dove Jamestown 2 weeks ago.( 5/15 ) It was my 1st dive of the season ( hadn't been in the water since last October ) Froze my butt off , but felt good to be back in the water. Hit Bigalow state park the following day ( Union, CT ) I will be in the water this weekend finishing up my AOW. I dive with a great bunch, but I work crazy hours and they are not always available to dive when I am. I am hopeing to meet some CT divers and spend as much time as I can in the water this season:D

I was at FT W. yesterday 55 degrees and reasonable Vis.

Never dove West Hill and would like to give it a try so if someone is looking for a buddy. Let me know.

Sounds like several of us would like to hook up on the weekends for West Hill Pond. Tying everyone (or even 2 divers) together scheduling wise is always the tough part.
I can usually schedule in a Sat. or Sunday no problem as I'm close by 45 minutes.
Would be nice to see a Connecticut group or Forum maybe? In any event I'll be at Squantz Pond the 29th doing Rescue cert dives. I'd maybe be up for a Sunday AM dive or definately the week after.

hello river rat i dove west hill pond also good diving at the pinicals the sunken ilands also from boat launch to the left the wall any sunday i will go either there or RI

Sounds good! I'm still in a 7mm so West Hill sounds better right now than RI. Unless temps are around the same then it's a moot point. I'm diving this Sat. for Rescue. I'm good maybe this Sunday AM, Monday or the following weekend Sat. or Sun.

Sounds like we should be able to get together a group for a dive some weekend (maybe this weekend?) at West Hill. The temps this weekend were in the low to mid 60's at the surface, and mid to high 50's at depth. I dive a 7/5mm wetsuit and had no problems at all with the temp.
I know the feelings of working a crazy schedule. Sometimes I wish I chose a career with a regular 9-5 type schedule. My schedule changes again in July and I'm not sure what it will be yet. I'm hoping to find out this week what it's going to be. Until then though, I get Saturday's and Sunday's off (unless I work Sunday as overtime). Saturday is the preferable day for me.
The Connecticut forum is an excellent idea.

Good idea for either a Connecticut forum or a list of the Connecticut divers for all of us to use as reference.

I'd like to dive this weekend, too. But Saturday and Sunday don't work for me this weekend (family 'stuff'). However, Monday is Memorial Day and I could probably dive Monday morning. Any interest in a Monday dive?

I would love to dive Monday, but unfortunatly I don't get the day off from work like the majority of people do. If you can't make it this weekend, possibly next weekend? If anyone else has interest in going diving this weekend, let's set something up.
