It is just as important to have the weight distributed properly on your back as it is to carry enough. I find weight belts give me a lower back ache and slip too easlily after my suit compresses at depth. The WI-BCD non releasable pockets are more useful for trim then just additional weight. Of course that changes with me when I use my 7MM farmer john and need the added weight.

The DUI harness system puts the load on your shoulders and less on your spine. Just a thought.

I'm wondering if a PST 100 steel tank would help your problem? By being negatively bouyant, you need less lead. The weight is distrubuted over a larger area. They are slightly lighter than an AL80 with the bonus of a little more air.
