I was wondering what thoughts people had about integrated weights. What do you like about them? What dont you not like about them? I just bought a new BC and i was wondering if i should stick w/ my weight belt or switch to integrated. Thank you in advance for your comments.

Why not use both a weight belt and the integrated? That way if you have to remove your BC at depth you still have weight on your person. This will help offset the bouyancy of the suit you are wearing. You also have various different methods of ditching weight incase you don't want to ditch all of your weight.

I have worn weight belts for decades, but am considering switching to integrated weights (adding them to my X-Tek BCDs) with some (but not all) of the belt weight shifted to the pockets.

Your poll does not include the option of both.

Cold water, I use both.

Warm water, it's just the integrated.

Nore does it include an option for nether.

I don't think I have a setup curently that uses a weight belt anymore.
Its ether double steels in a drysuit or a single in a light wetsuit with no weight.

Having dove both, I will not go back to a weight belt.
My intergrated weights do not shift or move like my weight belt did. So far, I have not seen any intergrated weights around the ankles of anyone like I have seen with weight belts. If I had to use lots of weight for cold water diving I may would use both but for the warm water diving I do, no way will I go back.

Both

Sometimes I use a belt, kayak diving or if I'm lifting my rig up over the side of the boat. Sometimes I use integrated, if I have a nice ladder or a beach dive.

I'd consider splitting my weight if I was able to get a weight belt to stay on. The unfortunate anatomical reality is that, to be reasonably secure, a weight belt would have to be high enough that it would interfere with my BC. I've thought about trying a harness for part of my weight, but that plan hasn't gotten beyond the consideration stage. So, it's integrated for me, despite my fairly high weight requirements.

Interated ar great,..only! If you need a replacement pouch, it may not be available, if it is, it will be about $45.00 each. this would make you think twice about dumping it.
