Yep, I'm afraid I've spent much more time editing this winter and spring than diving (less than 50 dives so far this year... yikes!). At least it kept me out of the bars here on "remote" Santa Catalina Island.

With all that surface interval time, I'm just about to complete the next offering in my DVD series, the "Echinoderms of Southern California" (see web page). As it stands now, it looks like there will be five 22-min episodes in a two DVD set. One episode on the sea urchins, another on the sea cucumbers, two on the starfish and one on the brittle stars and "lesser" starfish.

Now those of you who look forward to the "sax" and "violins" in my Munching & Mating in the Macrocystis series, I've got bad news for you. Most echinoderms just aren't the vicious carnivore hunters that provide great carnage scenes. However, thanks to some help from other video friends, there will be segments of great mating... sea urchins, starfish and sea cucumbers all. You'll love it!

Here's the DVD cover to get your juices flowing. I'll post in this thread when it is ready for purchase. If all 90,000+ members of SCUBA Board will buy this, or my recently released Sharks & Rays of Southern California DVD, I'll be able to retire and do some real dive travel to exotic (and, hopefully, erotic) places where I can film for future DVD's!

I'll contribute to your retirement as soon as you have this DVD available - I'm sure it would make a very nice addition to our library. What are the chances of you take my wife and myself on a tour of your favorite dive spot on Isla Catalina so we get to see some of the action in person as a thank you? :D:eyebrow:

Would love to hear stories of your diving exploits in Mozambique and South Africa! My favorite dive site here is Farnsworth Bank, but we haven't been there in a year now (at least not with me on board). Would you settle for one of my top five dive sites?

Hopefully you'll establish a trend... let's see, about 90,000 members here on ScubaBoard. If each one bought just my two most recent DVD's, that would be about $9 million. I could retire on that... even if I did every dream dive trip I can think of.

Hehehe, yes $9mill could go a very loong way :eyebrow:
If you're really serious about that any of your top 5 dive sites offer, I'd like to take you up on that! We're getting our new drysuits soon and we've been wanting to go out to Catalina again but decided to hang back for a while so we can get our wits around the new suits first and then go do a couple of decent dry dives there. If you're ok with me touching base with you once we're more comfortable then mebbe we could work in a couple of drinks together and share some stories - we'd love to hear more about the channel islands from someone with a good background knowledge also! My wife's a biology teacher with a zoology and genetics background so we're always up for getting to know people with similar interests. Let me know. :coffee:

Sure thing. I always enjoy meeting other folks from SB.

Can't wait to buy one DrBill!

It does look interesting. I as well will be looking forward to it's release.

Whew!! What a relief!!!

Until I read your post I thought that Echinoderms was some wierd waterbourne maladay.
I started pricing Class 1 exposure suits with Bubble Head option.

Now I can go back to Nudi diving with no worries! -N

Hey, you gotta watch out for them nudies too... all those weird defense mechanisms they have may be dangerous to your health.
